    Since the Allied campaign in Afghanistan began in 2001, 15 local soldiers have died in action and one from illness. Of the fallen, 12 were from Notts, one from Ripley, and two from Ilkeston.     A NOTTS company is working with police to help businesses to foil burglars. Fog cannons supplied by Protect UK, based at Sherwood Business Park, Annesley, deploy clouds of smoke when someone breaks into a premises.     A THEATRE company is to perform a show in Beeston about the Luddites. The Mikron Theatre Company will take to the stage at the Victoria Hotel, in Dovecote Lane, to perform Can You Keep a Secret? on Wednesday, May 23, at 8pm. The touring company travels by narrowboat to its venues, with 2012 its 40th anniversary tour.
